It’s a little scientific
An offhand comment I heard
From a sitcom or a cult classic
It does need scavenging
But I thought you’d love it
So dig a bit, a smidge deeper
I know the words are simple
I don’t need a thesaurus
I don’t want to need a thesaurus
For you to take my words in
But you can’t spare the time
You don’t want to dig deep
Because I won’t either
Not when your eyes wander
Looking for for-sale options
Do you particularly enjoy it?
Making your love a joke
And expecting me to pursue it
Because if it wasn’t
I would, you know I would
Stop ogling my billboard
It’s just my PR department
Get the fuck over it
Look at me at your eye level
See me as your equal
Stop leaving breadcrumbs
Fearing you’re insufficient
Love yourself enough first
To want what you want
Then only I can let you
Unearth in me your want
